Studios, publishers and investors to connect on the global stage
May 1, 2025 – Canada’s vibrant interactive digital media (IDM) industry will be front and centre at this year’s Web Summit Vancouver, taking place May 26-30, 2025. The global tech event—known as one of the largest and most influential innovation conferences in the world—will bring together thousands of entrepreneurs, investors, policy leaders and creators from around the globe.
With Canada’s IDM sector representing over 937 companies and contributing $5.5 billion annually to the national GDP, Web Summit Vancouver is a unique opportunity to showcase the country’s leadership in video games, XR, immersive content, and interactive learning technologies. It also provides an ideal platform for Canadian studios to network with international publishers, platform holders, and tech partners.
“This is a prime moment for Canadian IDM companies to connect globally, attract investment, and promote homegrown IP,” said Loc Dao, Executive Director of DigiBC and Chair of CIAIC, the national alliance of IDM associations. “Web Summit allows our studios to position themselves on a world stage—at a time when the demand for immersive, youth-focused, and AI-driven content is accelerating.”
CIAIC and its provincial members are encouraging studios, producers, investors, and public-sector partners to attend, exhibit, or speak at the event to amplify Canada’s IDM story. With strong participation from the country’s leading clusters in British Columbia, Ontario, Quebec, and across the country, the goal is to spark new partnerships, investment opportunities, and global collaboration.
